We are seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the PG Dip SCPHN 0-19 care. This programme is based within the Division of Nursing, Department of Health Sciences, College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences.
It is a full time 1 -year or 2 year part time postgraduate programme, which on successful completion leads to eligibility to register with the Nursing & Midwifery Council on part 3 of the register. This position requires the external examiner to be a Health Visitor or School Nurse with current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council on part 3 of the register, with a recordable teaching qualification.
The appointment will be for four years from August 2024, and the commitment required is as follows:
- To review a range of coursework throughout the year.
- To attend via Teams an assessment panels throughout the year and to submit an annual external examiner report.
- To engage in communication with the programme team.
- To carry out an interim visit per year, either in person or by virtual means, to meet with staff and students to obtain feedback on assessment in practice and to strengthen your engagement with the ongoing teaching, learning and assessment processes.
The University provides an External Examiner Induction/Briefing seminars to support those new to external examining and experienced External Examiners.
