External Examiner – Non-Medical Independent and Supplementary Prescribing programme

The University of Northampton is looking for an External Examiner for Non-Medical Independent and Supplementary Prescribing programme.

The role will involve contributing to the quality assurance of the programme for a range of students studying at level 6 and 7.

We have 3 cohorts of 50 students per year, and students can access the module as a standalone module or as part of a programme.
You will be involved with the approval of assessment tasks, moderation of student work, an annual report and attendance at exam board (minimum of one per year).
You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications to the programme and/or associated content materials.

Applicants should hold the appropriate NMC/HCPC professional qualification as an Independent Prescriber and appropriate academic qualifications.

We are looking for someone:

  • who is suitably qualified with expertise in the above areas, ideally a Programme Leader or Senior Lecturer on similar programmes.
  • previous experience as an external examiner is preferred but not essential

The appointment will be for the four academic years 2024 to 2028, from 1 October 2024, or immediate start if appointing after 1 October 2024.
