This is a professional qualification which follows BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) professional requirements, as well as Level 7 Learning Outcomes. The course involves six modules, 4 focusing on clinical aspects and placement: PSYM141 – Fundamentals of Counselling, PSYM142 – Integrating Counselling Theory and Practice, PSYM143 – Applying Integrative Counselling Approaches and PSYM134p – Placement and Supervision. This also includes 2 research methods modules PSYM085 – Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods and PSYM086 – Dissertation and Research Methods, which are also shared with other Masters programs in the counselling children and young people, and mental health subject areas.
We are looking for someone:
- Who is suitably qualified with expertise in the above areas, ideally a Programme Leader or Senior Lecturer on similar programmes;
- Who is a qualified counsellor with professional body recognition (e.g., BACP, UKCP)
- Previous experience as an external examiner is preferred but not essential.
The appointment will be for the four academic years 2024 to 2028, with immediate start.
