This programme is an exciting and innovative route to nurse registration for graduates from a range of non-nursing backgrounds. The programme sits as a pathway to adult nurse registration for a small number of students, alongside the larger BSc/BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies programme (all fields).
The pathway requires full-time study and, on successful completion, leads to professional registration on Sub-Part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register as a nurse in the field of Adult Nursing. The programme adheres to the NMC ‘Future Nurse’ education standards (2018).
Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff that will have experience of managing and assessing students on similar programmes. Experience of external examining would be an advantage, but is not essential. As an External Examiner you will be responsible for the external moderation of a range of modules from the programme and will be invited to review a selection of scripts and comment on assessment content. You would be expected to attend two Assessment Boards and submit a written report each year.
The period of tenure is for four years and will commence in September 2022.
All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University. The University offers support for newly appointed External Examiners.
