  • Vacancy ref: MED01
  • Programme(s): MBChB years three and four
  • Closing date: 30/11/2021

External Examiners are typically placed on the Edge Hill University External Examiners Register for a period of four years. Principle duties normally include.

  • Review and approve assessment strategies and guidance that contribute to a student’s final award, and any other assessment material as agreed
  • Visit the University at the least once a year to moderate assessed coursework and examination scripts

The MBChB programme currently has Foundation Year for medicine students, year one and year two MBChB students and we are looking to appoint our next external examiner for years 3 and 4 of the programme. This would particularly suit a General Practitioner, Psychiatrist, Physician or Surgeon with an experience of managing the middle years of a UK medical curriculum. This would also suit someone with an interest in curricula development given the fact Edge Hill University is developing a new medical curriculum.

Dr Simon Watmough – Associate Head of Undergraduate Medicine, Simon.Watmough@edgehill.ac.uk, 01695 657082
