The School of Health and Social Care at Edinburgh Napier University (Sighthill Campus) is seeking to appoint a new external examiner for our Graduate Certificate in Practice Learning (Social Services) programme. This is an SCQF Level 10 programme designed to equip qualified social workers with the knowledge, skills and values required to take on the role of practice educators for social work students.
This is a four-year tenure which would commence on 31st December 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter and end on 31st December 2028.
The successful applicant will be required to attend three Programme Assessment Boards per year (held online) and submit an annual report.
Essential Criteria:
- A professional qualification in social work recognised for the purposes of registration with the Scottish Social Services Council
- A professional qualification in social work practice learning
- An appropriate academic qualification to at least the level of the qualification being examined
- Significant experience and expertise in social work practice learning
- Competence and experience related to designing and delivering assessment tasks and enhancement of the student learning experience
Desirable Criteria:
- Prior experience as an external examiner
- Fellow/Senior Fellow of Advance HE
