The Institute for Health and Allied Professions at Nottingham Trent University are seeking to appoint an external examiner for the BSc Nursing courses (Learning Disabilities). Nursing is a new course at NTU with its first cohort starting in Sept 20 and MSc starting in Jan 2023, so this is a great opportunity to provide critical support to a growing team.
Currently we have over 700 students across three years and two campuses, Clifton and Mansfield, and whilst this post is specifically for learning disabilities nursing, our students work in field shared modules with adult and mental health nursing students.
In the BSc, each year consists of four modules that run at different points in the academic calendar, or over the whole year with a variety of modules that aims to prepare our students nurses for the challenges of being a Future Nurse, both theoretically and in practice.
We also run an apprenticeship route for the BSc so once again this is an opportunity to get involved in helping us shape these exciting courses.
This post requires that you are a registered nurse and that you have some understanding of the current Future Nurse curriculum.
We would be happy to discuss this role with you, and we will consider working with you if you have limited, or no external examiner experience in the hope that we can help you develop as much as you can help us.
The post is due to commence in Sept 2025, however, we are recruiting now to ensure there is adequate time for transition between EEs and attendance at our University EE induction in March.
