Nottingham Trent University is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for our pre-registration MSc/MSc Nursing Apprenticeship which includes the Adult, Mental Health, and Learning Disabilities field of practice. The tenure will start as soon as possible and will be for four years. The course is based within the Institute of Health and Allied Health Professions at the Clifton Campus within the School of Social Sciences.
The MSc Nursing pre-registration programme is a full-time two-year accelerated course which on successful completion leads to eligibility to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The position requires the external examiner to hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council in one of the fields offered by the programme and have relevant experience teaching on pre-registration nursing programmes. Experience in apprenticeship programmes is desirable.
As an External Examiner, you will be required to review coursework across a range of level 7 modules throughout the year. You will contribute to the quality monitoring of modules within the programmes and the overall programme and undertake an external review of assessed work. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed curriculum modifications and submit an annual report. Experienced External Examiners are preferred, however, support will be offered for those new to the role. The University provides an External Examiner Induction/Briefing seminar to support those new to external examining and experienced External Examiners.
