The Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for BSc (Hons)/MSc Professional Practice in Health CPD Framework: paediatric and neonatal modules & Advanced Diploma / PG Cert Specialist Neonatal Practitioner. The post holder will be the lead examiner for the Adv Dip / PG Cert programme and will moderate the following modules:

BSc (Hons)/MSc Professional Practice in Health
AC6774 / AC7146 Children and Young People Recognition and Emergency Care in Critical Illness
AC6782 / AC7152 Advanced Clinical Assessment Skills when working with babies, children, and young people
Advanced Diploma / PG Cert Specialist Neonatal Practitioner
MW0629 / MW0712 Neonatal Intensive care
MW0630 / MW0713 Neonatal Special and High Dependency care

As external examiner you will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme. You will be involved in approving assessment tasks, moderating student work, completion of an annual report and may be invited to attend examination boards. You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules.

Applicants should hold appropriate professional registration and academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience as external examiner/assessor although support and guidance can be provided for those new to the role.
