The Faculty of Health Studies, School of Allied Health professions and Midwifery at the University of Bradford is looking for a dedicated individual to undertake the role of external examiner for our PG Cert First Contact Practitioner (Musculoskeletal) programme to commence 2nd October 2024 for a 4-year term.

The PG Cert in First Contact Practitioner (Musculoskeletal) forms part of the Faculty’s post registration portfolio and is commissioned by NHS England to support educational provision for First Contact Practice in Musculoskeletal.

The programme is recognised by the Centre for Advancing Practice, NHS England as compliant with the requirements of the First Contact Practitioners & Advanced Clinical Practitioners in Primary Care: (Musculoskeletal) A Roadmap to Practice, and on completion learners will be recognised as a credentialed First Contact Practitioner (Musculoskeletal).

We offer 2 routes to completion either by a taught route or a supported portfolio route. Both routes lead to the award of PG Cert (60 credits at Level 7) and will align with Stage 1 & 2 of the Roadmap to Practice.

  • The applicant should have appropriate expertise/experience in the areas of PG Physiotherapy- including Musculoskeletal and ideally First Contact Practice.
  • They will be able to undertake a paid role in the assurance of academic standards in Higher Education and should be aware of modern developments in the design and delivery of the flexible curriculum.
  • The appointee will be required to moderate a sample of work, submit an annual report, and attend Examiner Induction and Boards of Examiners as appropriate, virtually if necessary.
  • You will not hold more than TWO other UK Higher Education External Examiner post at the start of the contract and will be qualified to at least MSc level.
