We are seeking an External Examiner for the MSc Healthcare Practice.

The course provides a flexible approach to CPD for a range of healthcare professionals and nurses: Through core modules students develop knowledge around requirements for advanced healthcare practice, leadership and research alongside a choice of optional modules to meet individual learning needs.

The course is generic to appeal to all healthcare professionals but also includes specific locally identified pathways for neonatal care, simulation and a new pathway commencing in September 2022 for Community and Primary Care.

The External Examiner will be allocated specific modules as many modules are also accessed by students on other courses and shared with the BSc Healthcare Practice so distributed between examiners. There are likely to be approximately 7 modules per trimester to examine.

There is a requirement to examine a short course for General Practice Nurse Fellowship.

External examiner duties include: Submit module reports to each trimester exam board/ Attend at least one examination board per year/ Submit an annual report/ Provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.

Essential Criteria: Experience of delivering relevant Master postgraduate taught programmes/courses at HEI level 7.
Current registration on an appropriate professional register such as NMC, HCPC.

Desirable Criteria: Previous experience as an external examiner, however, new to external examining applicants are encouraged to apply.
