The University of Hertfordshire School of Health and Social Work is looking for an external examiner for our BSc and MSc Adult Nursing programme.

Our BSc and MSc Adult Nursing programmes are well-established at the University of Hertfordshire, and we have been placed fourth for our Adult Nursing provision in the Guardian League Tables 2025. We are also reviewing all our nursing programmes with the NMC in January 2025. The ideal academic candidate for this post should be currently active in educational delivery and research within the field of adult nursing.

The appointment will be from January 2025. Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experience academic staff, who hold current NMC registration as an Adult Nurse. Previous experience of acting in the role of external examiner is desirable but not essential. The tenure of appointment is for four years. All external examiner appointments are subject to approval by the Director of the Centre of Academic Quality Assurance at the University. The successful candidate will have access to an on-line induction to familiarise themselves with the role and have the opportunity to meet the teaching team; additional support may be available for those who have not undertaken the role before.
