Wrexham Glyndŵr University in North East Wales is looking to appoint an External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy programme. This is a new programme with the first cohort of ten commissioned students, commencing in September 2022.
Principle duties will include:
- Verifying assessments (levels 4-6)
- Moderating work (levels 4-6)
- Attending assessment boards
- Commenting on proposed programme/module enhancements and developments
- To write an annual External Examiner report
The appointment will be for a period of 4 years starting with the academic year 2022/2023.
Applicants should have subject expertise in Speech and Language subject area, modules combine both adult and paediatric disciplines so is suitable for a colleague from either background and preferably external examiner experience or have completed Advance HE training. The candidate should also be currently teaching in this subject area and have had curriculum design/development experience relating to higher academic level programmes.
The applicant should have degree apprenticeship experience
Appointment will be for a period of 4 years starting with the academic year 2022/23. External examiners are expected to review the assessment process and moderate work and attend the assessment board once a year usually in June / July.
