The University of Staffordshire, School of Health, Education, Policing and Sciences, is seeking to appoint an external examiner for its BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science (Adult) Apprenticeship program.
External examiners play a vital role in upholding the standards of the University’s qualifications. Key responsibilities include reviewing and approving assessments and examination papers, sampling student work from various modules, and confirming that marks are fully moderated, agreed upon, and externally examined. Additional duties involve submitting annual reports, attending boards of examiners, and approving program modifications.
The curriculum is based on the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards (2017;2023). The appointed examiner will oversee modules delivered at Levels 5 and 6.
This position is typically held for a four-year term, with the appointment starting as soon as possible upon approval. Applicants should have relevant experience in pre-registration apprenticeships in paramedic science education, particularly within the Adult Field, and must be registered with the HCPC.
