External Examiner – BSc (Hons)/Graduate Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma Community Specialist Practice (District Nursing)

Wrexham Glyndwr University in North East Wales is looking to appoint an External Examiner for the Community Specialist Practice Programme (District Nursing) from September 2023. Currently the programme is delivered at level 6 and 7, although from September 2024 it will be level 7 only.

Applicants should have subject expertise in District Nursing and have a recordable District Nursing qualification with the Nursing Midwifery Council, and preferably have some external examiner experience, although consideration will be given to applications from first time external examiners who may be interested in developing. The candidate should be currently teaching in the subject area and have had curriculum design/development experience relating to higher academic level programmes.

Principle duties will include:

  • Moderating work
  • Attending assessment boards
  • To write an annual External Examiner report
  • Possible meetings with student cohorts
  • Appointment will be for a period of 4 years starting with the academic year 2023/2024.
