Pay:
£500 payable annually
Assigned to modules on a single or small number of related programmes. The fee includes all duties set out in the External Examiner role descriptor and will be payable annually following receipt of a completed report using a template provided.
Location: Remote / Chester, Cheshire
We are seeking a new External Examiner for the full-time, 3-year, pre-registration BN and MN (Hons) and MSc Nursing programmes, who will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme.
The role will involve being an external examiner across a range of Level 4, 5 and 6 undergraduate modules (BN and MN years 1-3) level 7 modules (MN 4th year), and the Accelerated MSc (2 years).
You will be involved in the approval of assessment tasks, moderation of student work, completion of an annual report and will be invited to attend a minimum of one Module Assessment Board per year.
You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules/new programme. Applicants should hold an appropriate NMC Nursing Professional Registration and academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience of external examining although support and guidance can be provided for those new to this role. The University of Chester offers extensive support for external examiners and holds annual workshops. Further support is also provided by the Directors of Pre-Registration Nursing.
