The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Hull are looking forward to working with four new External Examiners for modules within our BSc (Hons) Nursing pre-registration and apprenticeship nursing programme.

The duties of the position are as follows:

  • Consideration and moderation of students’ assessments of theory and practice learning.
  • Submission of an External Examiner’s Annual Report
  • Membership and attendance at Boards of Examiners
  • Collaboration with programme directors, module leaders and administrative colleagues to inform the continued monitoring, review and enhancement of these programmes.

External examiners appointments are typically for a period of four years and the appointment is for the start of the 2023 academic year. We welcome applicants who are new to externally examining as well as applicants with relevant experience. Experience and knowledge of pre-registration nursing education is essential and applicants must also be adult field nurses registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Appointment is subject to meeting the university’s criteria for the appointment of External Examiners. A full induction to the university can be provided.
