End Point Assessment – External Quality Assurer – Level 5 Assistant Practitioner (Health) Apprenticeship

The EQA will complement the work of programme-level External Examiner (EE), by providing oversight of the operation, management and quality assurance of the apprenticeship End- Point Assessment (EPA).

The EQA will specifically review and carry out quality assurance of the apprenticeship EPA in accordance with the conditions, timescales and arrangements set and the EPA plan for the Level 5 Assistant Practitioner (health) Integrated Apprenticeship

BCU Currently deliver 3 pathways for the Level 5 Assistant Practitioner (Health) Apprenticeship   these are:

  • Maternity Support Worker
  • Radiography
  • Rehab

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide assurance that the end point assessment requirements listed on the apprenticeship assessment plan have been met
  • Attend standardisation meetings with Independent Assessors ahead of EPA, in line with requirements in the assessment plan
  • Review EPA support materials and assessment materials regularly (as stated in the assessment plan), to ensure that these reflect the EPA plan
  • Review of a sample of marked end point assessments across all assessment methods and independent assessors. Where appropriate, opportunities to conduct this online will be made available.
  • Monitoring the independent assessors’ practice and decisions
  • Produce an EQA End Point Assessment report, commenting on good practice and/or areas for improvement

Expressions of interest are invited from colleagues who:

  • Are HCPC/ NMC Registered and are currently employed by an institution delivering the apprenticeship provision, or have experience of being actively involved in the delivery, operation and management of a Higher Education apprenticeship programme(s)
  • Have a proven track record of achieving consistent improvements in relation to Higher Education apprenticeships.
  • Have demonstrable expertise, competence and experience in the fields covered by the apprenticeship, including work-based aspects.
  • Have a robust knowledge and understanding of the Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard(s) and the requirements of applicable funding bodies and regulators.

Start date will be May 2025 and pay will be £42.75per hour.
