AECC University College is looking to appoint a Deputy Head of School in Chiropractic/Associate Professor to assist the Head of School in the operational management and oversight of chiropractic education in the institution.

The School of Chiropractic is the largest in the UK and has grown significantly in the last 3 years with undergraduate, pre-registration and postgraduate courses. This impressive growth means we are now seeking a Deputy to support the Head of School in the daily operations of the chiropractic courses.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management of the School of Chiropractic. Duties will include line management of select staff, oversight of quality assurance and enhancement processes, placement oversight, project management, student liaison, staff development and student recruitment. Working closely with the Head of School, the successful candidate will take a key role in delivering on key strategic targets for the School and have responsibility for ensuring courses are delivered to the highest standards. The successful candidate would also contribute to high quality teaching and research within the school, acting as a mentor and role model to staff and students.

About the person

We seek an enthusiastic and highly motivated chiropractor to join our team who is either registered with the GCC or its international equivalent with knowledge of the UK higher education sector. The successful candidate will have previous experience of leadership or management, be able to work to deadline, have previously developed and delivered courses in higher education, have knowledge of quality assurance processes, an ability to foster student learning and development, and excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
The successful candidate must maintain their own development as a registered chiropractor and educator and are expected to contribute to the enhancement of pre-registration, post-registration and CPD courses within the School’s portfolio.
