Following significant growth in our Health provision and the creation of the School of Allied Health and Sciences, our School of Nursing and Midwifery is seeking to appoint a Dean of School who will join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exciting time to join the University of Suffolk, where you will contribute to developing and delivering the University’s Strategic Plan.

As Dean of this newly formed school, covering a wide range of subject areas, you will lead the school’s development and expansion, especially in apprenticeship, nursing and midwifery, ensuring its activities are aligned to meet the University’s vision and the region’s needs. You will lead in developing the school’s UG, PG and research portfolio and student experience and drive a culture of enterprise, business engagement and research excellence.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery is passionate about health and performance. We seek to unlock the potential in our students, providing them with opportunities for the future and ensuring they are given the knowledge and tools they need to have a transformative effect on the health and performance sector.

You will have a strong academic background, be educated to PhD level and be an expert in your subject or professional area. You will have a substantial teaching, research and/or professional practice record and experience working with professional bodies, including NMC and NHS contracting. You will also possess a varied and wide-ranging of professional skills, including excellent communication, leadership, management, organisational and planning skills.
