We are proud of our established position as a large provider of Operating Department Practice education across the Midlands and in the South West peninsula.  Our existing provision includes a number of pre-registration routes in Operating Department Practice, including apprenticeship provision, in addition to post-registration perioperative provision.

For this new Associate Professor post, we are seeking to appoint an exceptional ODP academic who is innovative, ambitious and inspirational.   You will have an in-depth knowledge of ODP education and the wider professional landscape.  You will have an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector and the passion to move the provision and the profession into its next stage of development.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an ODP academic to support the research, enterprise and innovation of this growing department.   You will play a key role in the development of a vision to enhance our provision and further develop our research. You will be working alongside our enthusiastic academic team in both the department and the wider School, to build upon our national and international reputation.

You must be educated to post-graduate level and should have or be working towards a PhD/Doctorate, and you will be able to demonstrate the capacity to make a valuable contribution to the body of practice-based research in the discipline.  The successful applicant will be an HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner with appropriate experience of working in clinical practice and Higher Education.
