We are seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic individual to become the Assistant Head of Department in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the
University of the Highlands and Islands.

Based in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, we have a campus in Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands, and in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. We provide
accessible, evidence informed education for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals including undergraduate and postgraduate students and are committed to supporting our students to make a significant contribution to the care of patients and the public.

The Department of Nursing and Midwifery is part of the university’s School of Health, Social Care and Life Sciences that brings together all health researchers and related
teaching at UHI. This role will provide leadership, support, and academic direction to ensure the quality of delivery and curriculum across the department’s academic
portfolio is continually enhanced and improved. The Assistant Head of Department will provide strategic leadership for the whole student journey and experience across all programmes.

Pay and Benefits

This role is linked to MG1 on the UHI pay scale. The starting salary for this position will normally be in the range £53,851 to £60,608. This is a permanent role. This post is full time and will involve working 35 hours per week on a working pattern as agreed with your line manager.

A reasonable relocation package up to £3,000 is available for the successful candidate.
