The University of Huddersfield is seeking to appoint an external examiner predominantly for MSci/BSc Health and Social Care, which commenced in September 2019.
The BSc Health and Social Care is a 3-year undergraduate programme, with the option of a fourth year for an integrated Master’s degree. The programme is located within the Division of Social Work and Social Care; several modules share teaching with the MSci Social Work programme.
External examiners will be required to contribute to the assessment process, moderate and report on student work, visit practice placements, attend Course Assessment Boards, submit an annual report and sign off the Course Leader’s response to the report.
Appointees will have relevant field-related experience and academic qualifications to postgraduate level, including a recordable teaching qualification. Although previous experience as an external examiner is desirable, the School will make arrangements for new external examiners to have a mentor, where needed. An induction programme is provided for external examiners.
The post is due to commence in September 2023. All appointments are for a period of four years.
