External Examiner – Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Care

We are seeking a new external examiner for the taught modules within a part-time Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Care programme. The external examiner will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme.

The role will involve being an external examiner across 5 assessed modules at level 8.

You will be involved in the approval of assessment tasks, moderation of student work, and the completion of an annual report.

You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications to the programme, and the development of new modules / new programme. Applicants should hold a relevant professional registration in health or social care practice and academic qualifications including a doctorate. It is preferable to have previous experience of external examining and either a significant record of teaching and supervision at level 8 or relevant clinically-focused research and publication experience. Experience of both would be ideal. The University of Chester offers extensive support for external examiners and holds annual workshops. Further support is also provided by the Programme Lead and Head of Division.
