Practice Learning Fellow (Adult Nursing) Associate Lecturer Level (Full Time – Permanent or Secondment)
Are you a Band 5 or 6 Adult nurse, passionate about supporting student learning in practice, and thinking about the possibility of working in a University, while keeping a focus on clinical practice?

Middlesex University are delighted to offer in the form of a Practice Learning Fellowship role an exciting opportunity for Adult nurses in early career positions, seeking to expand their skills, experiences and broaden their horizons.

This role will be split between supporting our students’ practice learning within our Skills Centre and clinical placement settings, and theoretical learning across our nursing programmes within the university setting. This opportunity will provide you with a supported and structured introduction to academic roles. You will get experience of teaching, learning, research and knowledge exchange activities, while also maintaining strong clinical practice links.

This opportunity is open to nurses who have a strong practice background, with a keen interest in teaching, learning, and contemporary learning technologies in Adult Nursing.

Successful candidates will have strong leadership skills and a commitment to developing nurse education, practice, and research with stakeholders to meet sector needs.

Secondment: This opportunity is open to nurses who may in the first instance prefer to be ‘seconded’ to the University. Should the candidate be successful, this will require a separate discussion and agreement between the University with their employer and mapping of their terms and conditions of employment. It is highly recommended that prior to application, candidates considering this route would discuss with their current line managers.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.

Please note CVs will only be accepted in addition to a fully completed application form.

If you wish to discuss the job in further detail, please contact Head of Department Dr Sinead Mehigan s.mehigan@mdx.ac.uk or Deputy Head of Department Cariona Flaherty c.b.flaherty@mdx.ac.uk

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate. You are therefore required to disclose details of any criminal record. ALL criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, even if they would otherwise be regarded as spent under this Act must be disclosed, as well as any other information that may have a bearing on your suitability for the post, including pending prosecutions.

The University will apply for a DBS certificate before your appointment is confirmed.
