The School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership at the University of Bradford is looking for a dedicated individual to undertake the role of external examiner for our MSc, PGD and PGC Leadership in Health and Social Care programmes with includes an international variant to the provision and will include a distance learning delivery mode from September 2025. This programme is designed to help you progress as a healthcare professional. It will give you both the skills and the professional qualification you need to apply for more senior leadership and management positions within health and social care. The successful candidate must be able to commence the appointment immediately. The fee for this role is £910 per annum.
An overview of your role and responsibilities includes:
Confirming the comparability of standards of student performance at University of Bradford with those of similar modules at other UK Institutions of Higher Education; confirming that the assessment process in its entirety is sound, and has been fairly conducted with full regard to justice to students; reporting and advising on the above by means of approving coursework and examination papers and providing an annual report to the University.
The appointee will be required to moderate a sample of work and you will also be required to produce an annual report and attend Assessment Committees and Boards of Examiners meetings.
These meetings are conducted remotely via MS Teams.
The successful applicant will have experience designing and delivering Masters level Health and Social Care Leadership awards and will be familiar with delivery through distance learning. They should teach at Masters’ level and have experience of quality assurance within the Higher Education sector in the UK. Professional accreditation through CIPD/CMI is welcome but not essential.
The applicant must be able to undertake a role in the assurance of academic standards in Higher Education and should be aware of modern developments in the design and delivery of the flexible curriculum.
You should not hold more than one other UK Higher Education External Examiner post at the start of the contract and be qualified to at least the level of the programme to be examined.
