The post is to provide research support to the theme of Integrating Physical, Mental Health and Social Care, as part of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North East and North Cumbria – the ARC.
The ARC is a collaboration between the region’s universities, the NHS, local authorities, voluntary organisations, charities and businesses in the region to address major regional and national health and social care issues. There are 8 themes within the ARC. The successful candidate will be focused on the theme of Integrating Physical, Mental Health and Social Care.
The theme has an expressed aim to develop evidence to meet the complex needs of people to inform care pathways which improve health, well-being and/or efficiency by overcoming traditional service, disciplinary, locality and demographic boundaries. The learning from these activities is intended to stimulate and support work on other areas of need.
The successful candidate will be involved in research into the needs of people with persistent pain and long term conditions. As well as working under direction, the successful candidate will be supported to meet the expectation of developing their own research in these areas. The successful candidate will also contribute to other projects and activities within the theme and the wider ARC as appropriate.
