UWE Bristol, School of Health and Social Wellbeing is seeking Independent Assessors for the End Point Assessment of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship Programme.

The Independent Assessors role and responsibilities will include:

  • approval of the invigilation arrangements put in place by the EPAO and assess and grade the completed examination paper
  • chairing the presentation panel
  • determining the presentation grade
  • determining the final apprenticeship grade

The Independent Assessor will have responsibility for independently assessing the two End Point Assessment parts that each ACP apprentice must progress through to successfully complete their apprenticeship:

  • EPA Part 1. Open book examination
  • EPA Part 2. Presentation of Practice [element 1: Clinical Practice Change Report and element 2: Presentation]

Appointment of Independent Assessors will be based on a check of occupational knowledge including current professional registration and participation in ongoing continuing professional development for Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Minimum occupational knowledge will include a:

  • Masters degree
  • current professional healthcare registration
  • minimum of three years experience working in the field of – Advanced Clinical Practice in a clinical and/or educational setting
  • minimum of three years experience in making assessment judgements at Masters level

Knowledge of the apprenticeship Knowledge Skills and Behaviours and occupational competences is desirable but not essential as this will form part of the Independent Assessor training provided by UWE Bristol.
