The school offers a unique context for the development and application of novel approaches to the study of a range of health and social care contexts, all underpinned by a concern for understanding the wider social contexts in which health, illness and wellbeing are located. We aim for excellence in research and in education and are looking for candidates who can contribute to both.

The School is currently going through exciting changes and expansion, with an increase in student numbers, an intention to prepare for submission to Unit Assessment 3 (research focusing on Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy) for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF), and the introduction of new courses, including the new Speech and Language Therapy Apprenticeship, and Masters in Global Public Health. As part of this exciting expansion, we are now looking to appoint a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Public Health. We especially encourage candidates with a background and experience in one of more of these areas – social determinants of health, health policies and systems in international contexts, global mental health, health epidemiology.
