The Department of Nursing and Midwifery is forward thinking and ambitious with plans to further develop nursing and midwifery education at pre and post-registration levels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team of academics dedicated to the learning and teaching of midwifery students.

Our midwifery course curriculum is focused on preparing graduates with knowledge, skills, innovation and vision for a career in contemporary health care services. This post will see you taking an active part in supporting students in both theory and practice Our philosophy is to work in partnership with students, academics, researchers, people who use services and their carers, and clinical practice colleagues to deliver high quality learning and teaching based on contemporary research findings and practice.

We’re looking for someone who can:
lecture, lead seminars, tutorials and other forms of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in a range of modes including online, face-to-face, and in clinical practice
develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching and assessment techniques, creating materials which generate interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students
carry out on-going curriculum review and development, including teaching content and materials, and contribute to the development of teaching, learning and assessment strategies

You should have substantive experience of clinical midwifery practice alongside knowledge of a range of teaching and assessment techniques and methodologies. You must possess registration with the NMC as a midwife and a Professional Midwifery Advocate qualification is desirable.
