Keele is the first UK University to offer a two-year pre-registration MSc Prosthetics & Orthotics programme. Due to growing numbers of students, with the 2nd cohort due to start in Jan 2023 an exciting opportunity has now arisen for another full-time position as a Prosthetics & Orthotics Lecturer within the growing School of Allied Health Professions. The post-holder will support the Programme Director and teach both within the P&O programme, but across the School’s educational portfolio. The team are particularly keen to recruit a colleague with recent prosthetics experience. The post-holder will join our enthusiastic and experienced P&O academic team.

Offering high quality undergraduate and postgraduate provision, the School is part of a research and scholarship community via the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and wider University. Established at Keele since 1994, the School has offered pre-registration Physiotherapy via varying routes, BSc Hons Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) and Rehabilitation and Exercise Science Programmes as well as eight postgraduate taught Masters programmes and opportunities for doctoral study, including a Professional Doctorate option.

You will play a part in the development of educational initiatives aligned with the school’s strategic direction and will pursue scholarly activities in line with the School focus. You will be an HCPC registered Prosthetist/ Orthotist. The School is particularly interested in candidates with recent Prosthetics experience and ideally would have an interest in biomechanics. Depending upon the profile of the successful candidate it may be possible to explore career development opportunities that involve research.
