Would you like to join a dynamic and forward-thinking teaching team? Do you want the opportunity to extend your professional skills with a secondment into academia?

Coventry University was one of the first universities to develop apprenticeship routes through their BSc (Hons) occupational therapy and physiotherapy courses, which started in September 2019 and, more recently, we have approval to deliver our apprenticeships as pre-registration courses on our MSc occupational therapy and MSc physiotherapy and leadership courses. From January 2022 we will be delivering these pre-registration apprenticeships, alongside our BSc apprenticeship routes, in London from our new purpose-built facility in Vauxhall. We are committed to working collaboratively across professions and with our partners and would like to invite applications to join our Coventry University team based in London.

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health are looking for motivated and enthusiastic occupational therapists and physiotherapists who are interested in secondment opportunities to teach on the apprenticeship being delivered on the London campus. Applications are invited from all specialities within occupational and physiotherapy. You will be joining a highly experienced team of educators within the University and be fully integrated into the teaching team both at Coventry and London. You will work alongside our teams on the London campus based in Vauxhall. The role will include delivering education to our apprentices on campus and online using our virtual learning platform.

The successful candidate will possess an excellent understanding of their specialist area of practice, and be able to demonstrate research and evidence-informed practice within that area. At assistant professor level, applicants should be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise preferably holding a higher degree in an occupational therapy/ physiotherapy related subject and be registered with the HCPC. Experience of teaching students, either within a HEI or as a clinical educator, would be advantageous.

There are two 0.5 secondments in Occupational Therapy and three 0.5 secondment posts in Physiotherapy. All of the secondments are for an initial period of 1 year. The post and salary are dependent upon the skills and qualifications of the individual.

The University offers academic and professional development opportunities and provides a Post Graduate Certificate Teaching Qualification leading to HEA accreditation.
