We are looking for an outstanding individual with excellent leadership and management skills and who is passionate about social work education to lead our newly formed subject area of Social Work. The subject area is part of the Faculty of Arts, Society and Professional Studies. This is an exciting opportunity to develop quality social work education at a distinctive University based in Birmingham. As the Head of Subject, you will work with the Faculty’s senior leadership team, peers, practice partners and experts by experience to recruit an academic team and write an innovative curriculum in social work that will lead to professional body accreditation.

You will play a key role in realising our ambitious learning and teaching strategy. In particular, we are seeking to recruit an academic leader, holding a social work qualification, who has a commitment to social justice, high-quality teaching, good outcomes, partnership, inter-professional working and to external engagement. To be successful you will have extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of higher education including professional and academic programme development.
