External Examiner for: Foundation Degree- Nursing Associate
Description: We are seeking to appoint an external examiner predominantly for the Nursing Associate programme. On completion, students are eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
This course is delivered on campus, one day each week per cohort. There are two intakes each year. The Course Assessment Boards are in April/May and November/December each year.
External examiners will be required to contribute to the assessment process, moderate and report on student work, visit practice placements, attend Course Assessment Boards, submit an annual report (EE3) and sign off the Course Leader’s response to the report.
Appointees will have relevant field-related experience, academic qualifications to postgraduate level, including a recordable teaching qualification and will be registered with the NMC. Although previous experience as an external examiner is desirable, the School will make arrangements for new external examiners to have a mentor, where needed. An induction programme is provided for external examiners.
The post is due to commence in September 2024. All appointments are for a period of four years.
