The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Worcester is seeking an experienced academic as External Examiner for the MSc Midwifery (shortened) blended learning programme (in partnership with NHSE) and two Level 7 CPD modules (Systematic Examination of the Neonatal and Professional Advocate)

The University requires that external examiners have qualifications at least equal to the programme being examined, therefore must have:
- Nursing and Midwifery Council registration as a Midwife with relevant subject knowledge and experience as a Midwife (essential)
- a MSc in a relevant subject (essential)
- Systematic Examination of the Neonatal qualification and experience teaching or working in this role (essential)
- Applicants should be employed within a university appointment (essential)
- Applicants must not have been a University of Worcester examiner within the last five years (essential)
- Professional Advocate qualification and experience working in this role (desirable)
The post holder will be required to:-
- Review and approve coursework assignments.
- Quality assure the standards of student performance.
- Review proposed course changes and claims for recognition of prior learning.
- Meet with students and practice partners.
- Attend the Board of Examiners.
- Provide an annual report to the University of Worcester.
The University of Worcester offers support for external examiners and a full induction day, date to be confirmed.
Further support is also provided by the Course leader and module team.
The appointment will be with immediate effect from September 2025 for a term of four academic years.
