The Faculty of Health is looking to appoint an External Examiner to cover the programme listed below:

MA Mental Health Programme (level 7)

The programme aims to facilitate a wide-ranging approach to change in mental health and welcomes all graduates and professionals from a range of different sectors. The focus is on integration of learners from multiple sectors of practice and society in considering the sociocultural aspects of mental illness and is not specific to nursing. The ethos is to create an environment where the student will be exposed to a diverse and inclusive learning experience, enabling the development of research projects that have the potential to support change in mental health The programme involves exploring the wider context of mental health and illness which examines and challenges existing beliefs and stigma around mental health

The overarching aim of the programme is to provide students with knowledge and critical understanding of a range of philosophies and paradigms, along with practical competencies and skills which will enable the student to develop, challenge and change the mental health arena.

Previous experience of External Examination is desirable, however mentoring arrangements can be arranged if appropriate. This is not specific to nursing and we welcome professionals from other allied health related spheres.

The appointment will run from 1st December 2022 until 31st December 2026
