The University of Staffordshire, School of Health and Wellbeing, is seeking to appoint an external examiner for its BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science (Adult) Apprenticeship programme.
External examiners play a vital role in upholding the standards of the University’s qualifications. Key responsibilities include reviewing and approving assessments and examination papers, sampling student work from various modules (including practice documents), and confirming that marks are fully moderated, agreed upon, and externally examined. Additional duties involve submitting annual reports, attending boards of examiners, and approving programme modifications.
The curriculum is based on the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards (2023), and IFATE (2024). The appointed examiner will oversee modules delivered at Levels 5 and 6.
This position is typically held for a four-year term, with the appointment starting as soon as possible upon approval. Applicants should have relevant experience in pre-registration paramedic science education, particularly within the apprenticeship Adult Field, and must be registered with the HCPC.
