We are pleased to invite applications for the post of Associate Dean – Student Experience and Quality to join the Faculty of Health, Education and Society Executive Leadership Team. The post holder will work closely with the Dean, executive team including heads of subjects to provide incisive and proactive leadership of key themes across the faculty, driving further improvements in performance against faculty and institutional KPIs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual who will make a significant strategic contribution to the continuing success of the faculty through leadership and operational oversight of the student experience, Quality and Admissions through development of relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About you

You will have a high level of academic, professional and personal credibility, significant experience working in the HE sector and in the areas relevant to the faculty portfolio. Furthermore, you will have exemplary communication and negotiation skills and the ability to conceptualize and communicate strategic vision and translate this into operational reality.

Qualifications

Essential;

  • A Master’s degree directly relevant to Faculty curriculum
  • A professional qualification or experience directly related to Faculty subject areas
  • Professional Recognition as HEA Senior Fellow (D3), or a teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain HEA Senior Fellow (D3) within an agreed timescale.

Desirable;

A Doctoral qualification directly related to Faculty curriculum

Faculty

The Faculty of Health, Education and Society offers a wide-ranging suite of programmes focused on improving the health, education, social care, and wellbeing of people living and working across the county, nationally and globally. The faculty has 6 subject areas: Nursing (all fields of nursing and advanced nursing); Health Professions; Education; Children Young People and Families; Social Therapies and communities; and, Psychology and Sociology. In addition to the academic portfolio, two commercial and enterprise units form part of the faculty overall operations – the NMC Competency Test Centre and the podiatry clinic.

Faculty staff and students form a positive and integral part of the local community. The teams work closely with many external organisations – including local government, schools, health and social care providers and charities, these relationships benefit and enhance the student and staff experience, impacting positively on local and global communities and individuals.
