The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education (FLSE) at the University of South Wales is seeking to appoint an Associate Dean: Partnerships and Business Development (Health and Social Care), to sit within its Senior Leadership Team.

The Faculty is the guardian of USW’s health and social care portfolio and a dedicated member of the regional and national health and social care ecosystem, having delivered health, care and related education for decades. We have a wealth of experience and expertise, as well as extensive networks across the health education and healthcare delivery ecosystem. Health and Social Care is one of the four designated ‘Accelerators’ or growth areas for USW and is aligned to our desire to improve the health and wellbeing in the local region, and focus on applying these principles to deliver impact both within and beyond the region. The Faculty holds a number of contracts to deliver pre- and post-registration healthcare courses and has expertise in developmental disorders, intellectual disabilities, cognitive psychology, sport and exercise science, and social care.

In this role, you will be involved in safeguarding existing provision, ensuring all Professional, Statutory Regulatory and Body standards are maintained, and will act as a principal interface between USW and the regional health boards, social care providers and other health and care organisations. You will work with a range of these partner organisations to develop an understanding of their needs and priorities across multiple agendas, including education and innovation, and develop the infrastructure required to deliver on these. The role offers considerable scope for innovative partnership working in pursuit of broad and deep collaborative partnerships that benefit the Faculty and the wider University.

The role is based at Pontypridd campus, but will require travel to USW’s other campuses and partners across the region. The role offers the opportunity to use your professional skills, knowledge and experience to influence the health and social care portfolio and curriculum, to ensure alignment with population health priorities and ambitions. You will also be able to think innovatively and creatively to redefine the scope and nature of partnership working, and to work to deliver meaningful and impactful partnerships.

This is a full time, permanent post.
