The School of Health and Social Wellbeing is situated in the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences at UWE, Bristol. The changing shape of contemporary health and social care requires a workforce that can work across boundaries, requiring the HEI sector to evolve to meet the needs of partners and employers in creating an agile workforce able to support continuity of care. Drivers for the School include: the health and social care sector move to Integrated Care Systems; an identity that resonates with employers; a culture of inclusivity, partnership where staff and apprentices can thrive and flourish; an environment which enhances opportunities for multi and inter professional learning, meeting the challenge of educating the healthcare and social care workforce of the future, aligned to the UWE 2030 Strategy.

The experience of our apprentices is very important to us and we strive to maintain a vibrant and inclusive learning community. A key part of any apprenticeship programme is the support provided as part of a tripartite review. This space provides an opportunity for the apprentice to reflect on progress thus far and plan ahead.

About you:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring individual to join our successful and highly committed team. You will join a visionary School of Health and Social Wellbeing and, in order to fulfil our aims and contribute to our continued success, you will be dynamic, adaptable, innovative and creative.

You will have a level of insight and experience of supporting learners. Knowledge of apprenticeship and professional standards. In addition to this you will have knowledge of the challenges and opportunities that working in healthcare brings.

Where is this role based?

This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre. Regular bus services link the campus to the main Frenchay site, the city centre and surrounding areas, and nearby Bristol Parkway train station.

Home to UWE’s Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences, Glenside Campus offers excellent teaching facilities, these include a selection of inter-professional simulation suites, enabling students to practice and develop professional competencies, and one of the best health care libraries in England.
