In developing our strategy for the launch of the new NMC standards for the future registered nurse and the implementation of the nursing associate role, the department is seeking candidates who uphold the overall mission of the University by providing high quality, accessible learning opportunities, promoting academic enquiry and advancement of knowledge.
The post holder will work closely with practice and university colleagues to develop the discipline of nursing through strong collaborative partnerships and contributing to transformational agendas reflecting the diverse and challenging nature of health and social care. Our desire as an academic community is to develop critical, competent and compassionate practitioners who can make a positive contribution to and impact upon nursing practice.
By providing expert knowledge, the post holder will be expected to teach and lead agreed modules, assess students, supervise undergraduate research studies, and engage in curriculum development.
Staff within the department contribute to the NMC approved degree and it is essential that the appointee is able to adopt a flexible approach to the subjects they teach.
Short-listed candidates invited to interview will be asked to deliver a fifteen-minute teaching session (followed by 5 minutes of questions) aimed at second year adult nursing students ‘an introduction to evidence-based health care’.
