Due to the tenure of the current external examiner coming to an end, we are seeking to appoint an external examiner for the health and social care undergraduate CPD (UCPD) programme. The UCPD provision at Canterbury Christ Church University is in the process of revalidation and a new innovative programme will be commencing in September. This programme will feature a learner centric curriculum and has an emphasis on preparing the learner for lifelong engagement with CPD both within the university and the workplace.
The role requires examination of mostly level 6 subject specific modules. The current external examiner has a wide portfolio which includes neonatal intensive care, leadership and management and sexual health. The person we are looking for is an experienced academic who is passionate about the development of the learner and practice as well as possibly being a subject specialist. We would especially welcome applications from academics with experience of work based learning and those with an interest in mentorship at both level 6 and level 7.
As the core learning outcomes relate to nursing knowledge, skills and values, someone with a nursing qualification might be in the best position to provide the sort of input we require; although other professionals are invited to have an informal discussion if you feel you meet the criteria.
For further information about the position please contact Peter Ellis, Acting Scheme Director, Health and Social Care CPD Scheme, Department of Nursing and Applied Clinical Studies on 01227 782521 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Applications should be made by CV and supporting letter to the e-mail given by 2nd July 2014:
*subject to successful validation
