The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint TWO experienced and suitably qualified academics to act as External Examiners for the Non-Medical Prescribing course (Independent & Supplementary Prescribing Qualification).

The successful applicants must be registered on the NMC register (Post 1) and the GPhC register (Post 2) and have the Independent & Supplementary Prescribing qualification. The applicants will also have experience of teaching and leading prescribing courses. He/she will be required to review both Level 6 and Level 7 work including a number of assessments. These include: numeracy exam; pharmacology exam; OSCE; Viva (Level 7 only) and a selection of 4000 word portfolios. There are 2 intakes per year (September and January)

The External Examiner will be expected to attend the programme assessment board, review student work and contribute to the overall assessment process.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced academic staff. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria.
