The Faculty of Health Sciences is an established provider of high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education. Offering education to students from a range of professional groups, notably doctors, operating department practitioners, midwives and nurses and paramedics, the Faculty plays a vital role in the development of the future NHS workforce.

A key element in our educational provision is the use of simulated practice environments to teach clinical skills. Our new cutting edge Centre for Clinical Skills and Simulation in the brand new Allam Medical Building allows students to practice in a safe, supportive and realistic environment under expert supervision. The rooms contain healthcare equipment and supplies, in addition to a wide range of patient simulators and audio-visual technology. To ensure the optimal availability, maintenance, preparation and operation of this equipment and the Centre, we are seeking to employ a Trainee Clinical Skills Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to build a career within our Faculty Technical Services team and to help our students develop the knowledge and skills to pursue a wide range of professions.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting with the provision of day-to-day technical and IT support for Clinical Skill, reporting to the Clinical Skills Technician. The post involves the manipulation of room configuration, using high fidelity simulation equipment, clinical equipment, fake blood and other fluids and specific filming equipment. This post is suitable for someone who is comfortable in a clinical environment and working with realistic simulated situations and incidents.
