Applications are invited from registered nurses with a higher degree to join our highly motivated team in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. As Senior Lecturer for Practice Learning the role holder will have specific responsibility for the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of a practice learning strategy designed to ensure high quality practice learning experiences for pre-registration students, post-registration students and newly qualified staff well prepared to meet the demands of professional clinical practice.
The role holder will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of practice learning development and delivery, working closely with the Associate Deans for Learning & Teaching and Academic Standards & Quality Assurance in addition to the Head of Undergraduate Studies and Professional Leads and liaising with senior clinical partners.
The individual will also work closely with professional service staff to develop more efficient systems for placement allocation and quality enhancement. The individual will have responsibility for the further development and implementation of systems designed to monitor risk management in relation to placement activity. The individual will be expected to work at a strategic level to develop cross university links to enhance practice learning as a collaborative venture and participate in national and international fora to contribute to the development of policies and strategies for practice learning.
The role holder will also be expected to engage in the dissemination of research and scholarly activity in this area and provide expert advice to support curriculum development in practice learning. The individual would be required to make a substantial teaching contribution to the pre-registration and postgraduate programmes and the academic and pastoral support of students.
