Basis: Fixed Term maternity cover – 12 months or upon the return of the substantive post holder

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School of Community Health and Midwifery for a Senior Lecturer or Lecturer to join our highly committed midwifery team on a fixed term 12 month contract (Secondment also considered). The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and visionary and keen to shape Midwifery education.
Applicants must be educated to degree level in a health related subject, have a minimum of three years post qualifying experience as a Midwife and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. For the Senior Lecturer post, an NMC teaching qualification, experience of teaching in higher education and course leadership experience in pre-registration Midwifery and/or related programmes are essential requirements.
Extensive, contemporary practice experience is essential, and the successful applicant will have a keen interest in developments in Midwifery. They will be committed to the success of students and able to demonstrate teaching, learning and assessment skills to effectively support students in both the classroom and practice areas.
The successful applicant will assist in the development and delivery of the pre-registration midwifery curriculum and other relevant programmes. There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will teach across a range of courses and will be required to act as a module leader.
