UWS remains the largest provider of pre-registration midwifery education in Scotland. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery to join the Division of Midwifery & Specialist Nursing within the School of Health & Life Sciences. The successful candidate will lead the dynamic and progressive team to develop midwifery education (pre-registration undergraduate and postgraduate) in line with NMC guidance, NMC updated standards and the Scottish Government Initiatives for midwifery practice. The successful candidate will require to be on the NMC register and will be appointed by the School into the NMC statutory role of Lead Midwife for Education.
Experience of effective leadership is integral to the role along with a track record in the development and delivery of midwifery education programmes. Evidence of experience is required in the integration of contemporary teaching, learning and assessment methods in everyday teaching practices. In this leadership role, undertaking research, development and/ or scholarship to enhance teaching will be expected along with engagement in wider academic activities including research, consultancy and CPD.
