The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences strives to be excellent in teaching, research and innovation in Mental Health Nursing. We are seeking an outstanding and inspiring individual to join our successful and highly committed team of academic staff who can contribute to the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health.

The department provides high quality, dynamic education using a variety of innovative teaching and learning methods delivered at all academic levels from undergraduate to doctoral study. You will work flexibly as part of a team to contribute to teaching, learning and assessment to support a high quality student experience in both pre-registration and post-registration nursing and other health programmes. You will participate in the planning, designing and development of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes, as well as pastoral tutoring. You will provide expertise to further enhance research and entrepreneurial activities. This will include undertaking individual and joint research to produce quality academic outputs and inform teaching, and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject.

You must possess excellent knowledge of the development and contemporary aspects of mental health nursing practice and be registered with the NMC (part 1). You must hold a Master’s degree or be either qualified to Doctoral level or be willing to study for a Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline and have subject expertise with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. Ability to deliver high quality, research rich teaching within nursing and a growing publication profile are essential.

Part time working and/or secondment arrangements may be considered.
