School of Health Sciences, University of Brighton (Falmer)
This is an opportunity to be working in a dynamic team of paramedic and community health practitioners. Joining the Paramedic Practice programme you will have up to date knowledge of contemporary paramedic practice and have held a senior practitioner role. Previous experience of Paramedic teaching, assessing in practice or HEI based Paramedic programmes is also desirable.
You will lead the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Practice course and contribute to teaching on this highly successful pre-registration programme and where appropriate postgraduate modules. You will take an active role in supporting students in both theory and practice.
A fundamental part of the role is collaborating with staff in the school with interests in paramedic practice and other professions to develop research and educational opportunities with practice, such as apprenticeships. We have a philosophy of engaging in partnership work and are committed to policy developments which you will be expected to engage with.
You will have a BSc in a relevant subject, a registration with the Health & Care Professions Council as a paramedic and be committed to studying at a higher level. If you have a PhD or Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers. Travel to other university sites will also be required.
