An exciting opportunity has arisen to join part of an established forward thinking team of midwifery academics in providing midwifery education within Birmingham. The Department of Midwifery and Child Health delivers a range of programmes and courses and participates in initiatives within the Faculty of Health as a whole. We are committed to delivering the highest quality of teaching and support to our students.
We are seeking an experienced NMC registered midwife approved teacher to fulfil this exciting role. You should have, or be working towards, a higher degree and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the key aspects of current issues within midwifery and the NHS. You must be highly motivated, well organised with good communication, IT and leadership skills. The role will include working closely with midwifery mentors, establishing your clinical link/personal tutor role and providing pastoral support for our students.
On appointment the post holder will help the team to develop and engage with new innovative learning and teaching methods and lead midwifery and health related research. There is also the opportunity of participating in delivery of our post registration short programmes; study can be provided to facilitate personal development in these areas as well as offering the opportunity of commencing post graduate study.
Salary: £38,154 to £45,569
